Cut-A-Rug D.J. & Dance Enterprises Inc. teaches American Style Latin Dancing also known as Social Dancing. This is the type of dancing which can be done at any type of social event where there is dancing. We do not teach International Style Latin Dancing which is the type of dancing seen on television in the dance competitions.
Latin Course
The Tango, Cha Cha, Mambo/Salsa, Merengue, Rhumba, and Samba are typically
taught in this course with a stronger emphasis on the Tango, Cha Cha, and
Mambo/Salsa. Depending on the course length, two to four steps are taught in
each dance.
All of these dances are Latin American Dances.

The Tango is American Style Tango which is the more common Tango. We do not teach the Argentine Tango which is more complicated. |

The Cha Cha is a dance which is the most versatile dance for dancing to many different types of music. |

The Mambo and the Salsa are very similar dances. The styling of the Salsa is different and also is a much faster rhythm than the Mambo. |

The Merengue is a fast dance which has a lot of lateral movement. |
|
The Rhumba is a slow dance with emphasis on upper body isolations. |
|
The Samba is a fast paced triple step rhythm Brazilian dance. |
