Jitterbug - Overhead Slide


This step begins in the open position (man holds the lady's right hand with his left hand and the lady's left hand with his right hand)

Men's Steps
(Basic)
1 - 2. Step side left with the LF (S)
(Swing the left arm out to the left side & right arm out to the right side)
3 - 4. Step in place with the RF (S)
(Continue swinging both arms out & up until both arms are overhead; drop the left arm behind the head and the right hand on top the lady's right shoulder. The lady's left arm should be behind her head)
5.

Step in back of the right heel with the LF (Q)
(Release both hands and let your right hand slide down the lady's right arm until you are shaking right hand to right hand to right hand with the lady)

6. Step in place with the RF (Q)
(Lady's Left Underarm Turn)
7 - 8. Step forward with LF and make 1/4 turn to the right (S)
(Turn the lady to her left with your right hand)
9 - 10. Step in place with the RF (S)
(Place the lady's right hand into your left hand)
11. Step in back of the right heel with the LF (Q) 
12. Step in place with the RF (Q)

 

Women's Steps
(Basic)
1 - 2. Step side right with the RF (S)
(The man swings the left arm out to the left side & right arm out to the right side)
3 - 4. Step in place with the LF (S) 
(The man continues swinging both arms out & up until both arms are overhead; he drops the left arm behind the head and the right hand on top the right shoulder. The lady's left arm should be behind her head)
5. Step in back of the left heel with the RF (Q)
(Release both hands and let your right hand slide down the man's right arm until you are shaking right hand to right hand with the man)
6. Step in place with the LF (Q)
(Lady's Left Underarm Turn)
7 - 8. Step forward with the RF and make a 1/2 turn to the left (S)
(Turn under the man's left arm).
9 - 10. Step side left with the LF (S)
11. Step in back of the left heel with the RF (Q)
12. Step in place with the LF (Q)
